When I arranged the order of songs for the Kasei project, I felt the need for a song in Act II between Rick and a religious co-worker. In my notes, I put "Destiny song". On February 12, 2016, after dinner at the local diner and making banana bread, I sat down at the keyboard in my apartment. After my hands created the opening piano line, I recalled needing a Destiny song for a subject matter, and within two hours, the song was finished.

lyrics
Have you ever thought about the meaning of it all
You look around and wonder who calls the shots,
Who throws the ball?
And who plans for what you stand for
What you're made for
Who knows where we are
On this pathway around the stars
We all are made of dust
Made to interact this moment just because of destiny
All because of destiny
Well, I guess it's easy to say when life is a certain way
That it had to be so rough
But that's what made me tough
And it makes sense if there's distance
From the choices we made to get here
Who knows where we are
On this pathway around the stars
We all are made of dust
Made to interact this moment just because of destiny
Call it deity or destiny, but the outcome is the same
We all are just players in some giant game
Where we win and we lose and we don't get to choose
Who we meet with, compete with, who we fall in love with
Who knows where we are
On this pathway among the stars
We all are made of dust
All because of destiny
