The ground stopped shaking a bit
No mistaking a lit fuse has taken over the news

When the humans stayed home

The birds and the bees all lived in the trees while the humans stayed home
The pollution stopped when the humans stopped
Is it allergies when you sneeze or cough?
Why do you feel off?
Don't you hear the birds singing warning sirens

When the humans stayed home
They lost their community
There's no immunity from being alone
There's no escaping from yourself
We're meant to roam
Going to and fro
And the humans sat still inside til it was safe to go outside

Nature took its path, it was quiet at last
When the humans stayed put
The winds blew like a hurricane through the plans the humans made
But it's a slower time, any lower I'm afraid I'll retrograde

Can you hear the winds blowing
They'll take your breath away
Hunker in there's a change in the weather
Together we'll be OK
Creatures big and small all sheltered in place

When the humans stayed home
They lost their community
